Health and Safety
Safety issues are a priority for the elementary teacher. For teachers of Science and Technology this concern is multiplied many times over. All too often the classroom teacher is the technology teacher and he or she may have little safety training. For most elementary students, the technology classroom is the first time they have ever used specialized tools and equipment such as machinery, power or hand tools. Having a positive first experience is important but making sure that it is a safe one can be difficult.
The following articles were designed for teaching and reinforcing safety issues. It is our hope to continually add new information to this page in order to assist educators with ensuring the safety of our students.
